About
Emilia del Pino is a licensed speech and language pathologist in New
York and New Jersey and has worked in the field for over 28 years. She
received her Master’s Degree from Teachers College, Columbia
University in 1996. Emilia went on to complete her clinical fellowship
at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Kennedy Center. After
completing her Clinical Fellowship Year, she accepted a SLP position
on their Pre School and School Age clinical evaluation and
rehabilitation team. There, she worked on a multi-disciplinary team
with developmental pediatricians, psychiatrists, dentists,
audiologists and OTs/PTs for three years.
While holding her SLP position, Emilia began training in oral
motor/feeding and speech therapy and was fortunate to be mentored by
Sara Rosenfeld Johnson and joined Sara R. Johnson’s Oral Motor
Institute and Talktools in 1997, working with a team of oral motor
feeding specialists and sensory integration occupational therapists.
She is a Level 4 TalkTools trained therapist.
In 2000 she taught and provided clinical supervision on the graduate
and undergraduate levels at the College of St. Rose and the Pauline
Winkler Speech-Language Center in Albany, N.Y.
In 2002, Emilia re-located to Syracuse, NY and established her private
practice, CNY Speech Pathology. In 2014, Emilia went on to study
orofacial myology and is the only speech and language pathologist
board certified by the International Association of Orofacial Myology
in Central New York. Emilia now serves on the Board of Directors for the International Association of Orofacial Myology, furthering her contributions to the field.
Mrs. del Pino is professionally driven, and has published articles,
mentors and has spoken on podcasts regarding airway health. She
participates in the IAOM monthly mentoring meetings, the Tri State
Area Orofacial Myology Study Club and is the founder of the
Foundations: Airway Health and Wellness Study Club; the first multi
disciplinary study club in CNY.
Emilia del Pino provides consultation, education and training
seminars on the local and national level. She was an invited speaker
at the APRAXIA KIDS National conference in 2024, presenting on
Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders. She lectures to audiences including
graduate students, certified speech-language pathologists,
occupational and physical therapists, dentists, registered dental
hygienists, teachers and parents.
